Chicago Bears to sign veteran WR Scotty Miller

LAKE FOREST, Ill., — After being invited to rookie minicamp, Scotty Miller has earned a contract with the Chicago Bears. Ahead of Saturday's practice, ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reported that Miller has officially signed a deal with the Bears.

The 28-year-old Miller is going into his eighth season and has spent time with Tampa Bay, Atlanta and most recently Pittsburgh. He was with the Steelers for the past two seasons and is coming off a 2025 campaign in which he had nine receptions for 62 yards. His best season was in 2020 when he caught 33 passes for 501 yards and three touchdowns for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, helping them win Super Bowl LV.

The Barrington native figures to compete for WR3 or WR4 spot on the Bears roster but can also provide some special teams value if needed. Head coach Ben Johnson talked about Miller ahead of rookie minicamp on Friday.

"I've talked to him a little bit. He's got a history with Antwaan Randle El. Randle El was with him when he was a young buck there in Tampa," Johnson said. "So there is some shared experiences. Looking forward to seeing him run around and compete a little bit. From afar, I've been able to see the speed, the quickness and that is certainly very intriguing."
