Packers host 2nd-annual girls flag football camp

TITLETOWN, Wis. (WBAY) - The Green Bay Packers hosted their second annual girls flag football camp on Saturday morning in Titletown.

The free event had over 50 girls from 20 different high schools across the state participating.

The event helps girls get experience playing football and helps grow the sport.

We spoke with one member of the organization about the growth of girls’ flag football.

“It’s one of those things where it’s not just a high school thing, you know, it’s beyond high school. It’s before high school, but we’re really hoping that it can get to the point in our state where it becomes a sanctioned high school sport,” says Ryan Fencl, the Packers Football Outreach manager.

The Packers Football Outreach program wants to continue the program next year for high school-age kids to continue growing the sport.
