Depot After Dark: Cam Heyward’s Movie, Cowher’s Talk Show, River Dunkers

A Steelers Depot daily segment. A quick hit of some Pittsburgh Steelers-related stories that may not require a complete article but nuggets worth mentioning and passing on to you guys.

Your Depot After Dark for May 9.

Cam Heyward’s Movie

Cam Heyward is helping to make a documentary about his family, career, and the Steelers under his new “Iron 97 Productions” venture.

“The movie explores the deep relationship Cam had with his late father, NFL legend Craig ‘Ironhead’ Heyward, who died at age 39 of brain cancer when Cam was just a high school sophomore,” Andreas Wiseman of Deadline wrote about the upcoming project.

This is yet another step towards Heyward’s post-football future in the media.

Cowher’s Talk Show

Bill Cowher apparently has a talk show on Pittsburgh television on Thursdays at 8:00 PM ET, according to a photo shared by TribLive’s Chris Adamski on X. It is a six-episode series of him interviewing Swin Cash, Mark Cuban, Billy Gardell, Joe Manganiello, and Ming-Na Wen in unscripted interviews centered on the city of Pittsburgh.

River Dunkers

Swimming in the rivers around Pittsburgh isn’t advisable. Gennings Dunker, a country boy from Illinois, nearly learned that the hard way. He had to be told that it probably wasn’t a good idea, and he was disappointed.

“I had to ask around if I could swim in the river. You’re not supposed to do that, so I might go fishing,” he said after rookie minicamp practice Saturday.

At least right now, his entire brand is centered on his red mullet. Swimming in the Mon may actually make that hair fall out, so it’s a good thing he didn’t try. At least he can fish. But as he noted, “I just won’t eat ’em.”

His personality and looks should make him a fan favorite in short order as long as his play holds up on the field.
