Announcing the death of a loved one in the local press is a long-standing tradition and we are proud of the trust placed in us to make these important announcements. Every day the ECHO print edition carries tributes and funeral notices for those who have lost a loved one recently and our condolences go out to all.
It gives people a chance to celebrate the lives of loved ones and pay respects to the health and care teams who looked after them. The announcements also often share information regarding funerals, fundraising and flowers.

John sadly passed away on Wednesday 15th April 2026, aged 89 years. A funeral service for John will be held on Friday 8th May 2026 at 2:40pm at Anfield Crematorium, Priory Rd, Anfield, Liverpool, L4 2SL. Family flowers only please, donations if desired will support numerous charities that were close to John's heart. A donation box will be available on the day of John's funeral service. A reception will follow at Lee Park Golf Club, Childwall Valley Rd, Liverpool, L27 3YA, all who knew John are invited to continue to celebrate John's life. John will be greatly missed by his niece Patricia, neighbour Eileen, friend Collette and all his other friends. With deep sadness and heartfelt regret, the family of James Patrick Cleary announces his passing and shares his funeral arrangements. James was born on January 31st, 1974, and sadly departed this life on April 19th, 2026, at the age of 52 years. He was a devoted father to his son, Tom, a much-loved son to Jimmy and Ellen, and a cherished brother to Julie. He will be dearly missed by his niece, Deni, along with his many friends and loved ones. Our hearts are heavy, and life will never be the same without him. Our loss is heaven's gain. Passed away suddenly and unexpectedly aged 50. Adored dad of Annie and step-dad of Phoebe. Devoted fiancé of Shirley. Treasured brother of Rob.
