Liverpool's wait to secure Champions League qualification goes on following a frustrating 1-1 draw with Chelsea. Arne Slot's men required three points to confirm their place in the tournament, but can now clinch it next week when they face fellow top-five challengers Aston Villa.
Although the Dutchman appears set to remain at the helm beyond this summer for a third campaign at Anfield, he faced significant criticism during the encounter. His choice to withdraw Rio Ngumoha in favour of Alexander Isak drew loud jeers from supporters, with further discontent heard at the final whistle.
The fixture offered a glimpse of what the club's future might resemble without Mohamed Salah, who was absent through injury. A potential successor to the Egyptian legend may have been pinpointed, while the Reds could find themselves competing with Arsenal for another prospective signing.

Juventus name Conceicao asking price
Finding a long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah stands as a critical priority this summer. The Reds will be searching the market for multiple attacking reinforcements, with Juventus forward Francisco Conceicao believed to feature among their potential targets.
The Portugal international, 23, is attracting attention from Arne Slot's side, according to Italian publication Corriere dello Sport. The winger commands a hefty price tag, with the report suggesting the Turin club are demanding £60m (€70m) for his signature — just 12 months after permanently securing his services from Porto for £27m.

That valuation could prove too steep given the forward has managed just four goals and four assists across 39 appearances in all competitions. With only one goal in his last 15 league outings, the Reds will no doubt be conducting thorough due diligence as they look to replace one of the greatest players in the club's history.
Fighting Arsenal for £60m ace
Attention will also turn to the opposite flank, where Liverpool have struggled considerably in the absence of Luis Diaz. The decision not to replace the Colombian following his switch to Bayern Munich always carried an element of risk — and it is one that has come back to bite the Reds.
Among those linked with a move to Anfield, Paris Saint-Germain forward Bradley Barcola is understood to be high on Slot's wishlist, according to Sky Sports Germany. Arsenal are also reportedly keeping close tabs on the left winger, who is valued at €70m (£60m) according to transfermarkt.

The 23-year-old - whose contract runs until 2028 - has contributed 14 goals and five assists across all competitions, though he remains second choice in his position behind Kvicha Kvaratskhelia.
Liverpool will undoubtedly be in a position to guarantee him greater playing opportunities, particularly given Cody Gakpo's recent dip in form, but persuading the talented winger to turn his back on arguably the finest side in Europe right now will be no easy feat.
