Cody Gakpo had one of those games where, if you weren’t watching closely, you’d struggle to remember he was even on the pitch in spells.
**Minutes played:** ~77
**Goals:** 0
**Assists:** 0
**Shots:** 1
**Shots on target:** 0
**Touches:** 20–25 range (very limited involvement)
* First touch didn’t actually come until around the **41st minute**, which tells you a lot about how little Liverpool got him involved early on
* Strayed offside before Curtis Jones’s disallowed header
* Involved in the build-up phase where Chelsea eventually scored their equaliser
* Very little impact in open play before he was eventually substituted
It just never really happened for him.
Liverpool struggled to find him in dangerous areas, and when they did, nothing really came off.
It was one of those frustrating performances where you’re waiting for him to get into the game… and it just never arrives.
