Newcastle United are aiming for their sixth consecutive win over Nottingham Forest across all competitions.
Paul Tierney will be the man in the middle as Newcastle United face Nottingham Forest this afternoon.
Eddie Howe’s side are aiming to record their sixth consecutive victory over the Tricky Trees. Since Forest earned promotion in 2022, the Magpies have won seven of the eight meetings across all competitions.
The only defeat came on Boxing Day 2023 at St James Park - made famous for Chris Wood’s brutal hat-trick. Forest have enjoyed a resurgence under Vitor Pereira and sit six points above the drop zone, although a 4-0 humbling to Aston Villa on Thursday ended their Europa League hopes.

Blues players made headlines for surrounding Tierney ahead of the game, with Liam Rosenior - now sacked - hilariously claiming they were “respecting the ball”. Interestingly, the 35-year-old also refereed Newcastle’s 2-1 win to Forest in 2023.

"They have built some good momentum to their game. We know it will be a tough game, always difficult going to the City Ground. We are going to have to be at our best."
