Arne Slot spoke about a disappointing 1-1 draw for **Liverpool**against Chelsea.
Enzo Fernandez cancelled out the early strike from Ryan Gravenberch at Anfield, and Dominik Szoboszlai smacked the post in the second half to come closest to restoring the lead for the Reds.
**Curtis Jones**had steered a Cody Gakpo flick-in goal bound, but the winger was offside, and the withdrawal of **Rio Ngumoha**to introduce Alexander Isak in the 67th minute angered some fans.
‘Second half I saw a different intensity’
Liverpool have taken just one point from two ‘Big Six’ fixtures against Manchester United and Chelsea, allowing the Red Devils to book Champions League qualification last week and ending a six-game losing streak in the Premier League for the Blues. It is a bad look for the reigning Premier League champions, who are trophyless for the first time since 2023 despite their summer spending.
“We started off really well and got a big chance from a set-piece which was close to making it 2-0.
"Unfortunately, like last week, we conceded a set piece. It was a sloppy goal. The second half I saw a completely different intensity. We went close a few times. Like so many times this season, we hit the post and bar. We were not able to control their players. They played with a lot of midfielders today.
“What the fans want to see, what I want to see, what everyone wants to see, is a team that creates chances from ball possession. And that's not what we are doing enough.
“If you simply look at the difference between the goals scored last season and this season, it's an enormous gap. The goals conceded is not so much different between this and last season, but the goals scored is the biggest difference between this and last season.
“I think if the same fans see a similar type of game but then it leads to more chances, they would be much more happy with what they are seeing.
“First of all, because they see more chances. Usually when you get more chances you score more and that leads to a win. We all know, I know now for being so long in football, that judging a performance is mainly also done by results.
“Maybe last season, we played a similar game against Chelsea but last season we found many times a way to score a goal, which we are struggling with this season. And that's just when you look at the goalscorers this season and you compare it to last season. That's a massive difference.”
