Back in March, Tottenham Hotspur came to Anfield on six straight defeats and looking like a team in complete crisis.
Today, Chelsea arrived in almost exactly the same situation.
Six losses in a row. No confidence. Fans turning.
And somehow Liverpool managed to make both teams look better again.
After Ryan Gravenberch scored early, Chelsea looked nervous.
That should’ve been the moment for Liverpool FC to step on their throat and finish the game.
Instead Liverpool dropped deeper, slowed down and let Chelsea grow into it.
We’ve seen the same thing too many times this season.
The worrying part now is it’s becoming predictable.
Teams come to Anfield in awful form and leave with confidence again because Liverpool just can’t control games anymore.
The boos at full-time said a lot.
Fans are tired of watching Liverpool take the lead and then retreat into themselves.
And they’re tired of the same decisions every week that clearly aren’t working.
Right now, Liverpool look like a team completely lacking confidence.
And unless something changes quickly, this atmosphere around the club is only going to get worse.
