It might have only been a point at Anfield, but the feel-good factor returned slightly among Chelsea’s players on Saturday. The good news continued on Sunday, thanks to Dastan Satpaev.
Chelsea might have felt they should have beaten Liverpool yesterday, but Enzo Fernandez’s goal was enough to earn a point and end a run of six straight Premier League defeats. A solid point, at Anfield.
DISCUSS: Who would win Chelsea’s Loanee Player of the Season so far? 🏆
Chelsea’s best loanees in the 2025/26 season:
Ted Curd (Boreham Wood)
Omari Kellyman (Cardiff City)
Jimmy-Jay Morgan (Peterborough United)
Mike Penders (Strasbourg)
Mamadou Sarr (Strasbourg)
Aaron Anselmino (Recalled from Borussia Dortmund)
It showed signs of progress, signs that Chelsea are capable of proving defensively solid. Levi Colwill’s return, Cole Palmer’s improved performance, and plenty of other positives were visible for supporters.
The good news continued on Sunday. At the end of the year, Chelsea will welcome Dastan Satpaev to the club when his loan at boyhood club Kairat Almaty expires. Satpaev was signed back in February 2025.
Dastan Satpaev tops Kazakhstan leaderboard with another goal
Chelsea have agreed to loan Satpaev back to his boyhood club until the end of the 2026 Kazakhstan campaign, which runs throughout the year and ends in the winter. Satpaev turns 18 in August.
While Chelsea own the player, Satpaev cannot play for the Blues until he turns 18. It is a tactic Chelsea often use, having done so with the likes of Kendry Paez, Aaron Anselmino, Geovany Quenda and more.

If Chelsea were hoping for Satpaev to improve while he remained on loan, they will be delighted to know that on Sunday, Satpaev scored his fifth goal in 10 games as Kairat Almaty drew 1-1 with Ulytau.
Having gone into the game in joint-first in the race for the Kazakhstan Premier Liga golden boot, Satpaev now tops the leaderboard with five league goals for the campaign. Satpaev also has two assists this term.
Released on the left flank, Satpaev found the back of the net to put his team 1-0 in front. However, Kairat would go down to 10 men inside the first 45 minutes and eventually end up drawing their away clash.
Speed machine Satpaev quicker than Chelsea mainstay
Despite his bargain £3m price tag, Satpaev is incredibly highly-rated. Naturally a winger, the attacker can play in behind a striker as an attacking midfielder or a secondary striker, or operate from either flank.
Is there anyone we are missing?🤔

On Sunday, Satpaev was used as a lone striker, and it paid off, scoring once again against a strong side in Ulytau. No doubt, Chelsea onlookers will have been watching on as Satpaev scored a fifth league goal.
While there are many parts of his game that obviously remain raw, Satpaev’s speed has caught the eye. In the Champions League this season, he recorded a speed of 21 mph, which is higher than Joao Pedro.
