Liverpool are said to be eyeing a move for Newcastle United and England full-back Tino Livramento, with the Reds having an “appreciation” for him.
The Reds have had issues at right-back all season, with Jeremie Frimpong struggling to impress and Conor Bradley suffering a serious knee injury at the start of the year.
Meanwhile, at left-back, Liverpool legend Andy Robertson is leaving in the coming weeks and Milos Kerkez is still a young player who is adjusting to his new surroundings.
Speaking on the Born ‘N Red YouTube channel [via TEAMtalk], journalist Ben Jacobs talked up the eyeing of the Reds moving for £70m-rated Newcastle ace Livramento this summer:
“Liverpool have always had appreciation for Tino Livramento, who is capable of playing right-back and left-back. He’s a player I expect Newcastle United to put available on the market.”
Could Tino Livramento be an ideal fit for Liverpool?
Livramento is an impressive player and is pushing to start in either of the full-back roles for England at the 2026 World Cup, so Liverpool signing him could be great business.
The 23-year-old seemingly wants a fresh challenge, with contract talks with Newcastle reportedly stalling, and Anfield could be a great fit, coming in as the Reds’ first-choice right-back.
Livramento has been a huge talent for years now, with Theo Walcott heaping huge praise on him when he was at Southampton as a teenager, saying:
“You can just see he’s got an aura about him around the place. He’s changed completely which is really nice to see when you get a bit more confidence playing, he’s not as shy and timid around the place he’s got a bit more of a presence. It just shows that there’s a future star there but again we need to be careful as we always do but its why we love football isn’t it? I can’t complain, he’s been absolutely fantastic.”
That shows how highly Livramento has been regarded for a long time, and while his rumoured £70m price tag is high, he could end up being worth it over a long Liverpool career.
His versatility is a big positive, covering two positions, and there is every chance that his best years are still to come, as he looks to reach his potential for both club and country.
