After a big 34-6 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in November 2024, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones ignored calls to put up blackout curtains to block the bright sunlight at AT&T Stadium. The issue came up again when star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb missed a chance for a go-ahead touchdown because he lost the ball in the light.
Terrible: Cowboys owner Jerry Jones was warned about the stadium's blinding sun issue but insisted he wanted an indoor stadium with an outdoor aesthetic.
Nothing short of utter incompetence 🤦♂️ pic.twitter.com/WRxQKVpAr5

Despite Lamb saying he was fully in favor of using the curtains already up for concerts and basketball games, Jones firmly rejected the idea.
Jones argued that the sun glare is a strategic element. "It has been an advantage for us to know where the sun is," Jones claimed, adding that the Cowboys "know where the damn sun's going to be" when they decide to flip the coin.
Jones insisted the $1.2 billion stadium was intentionally built with an east-west orientation to provide an "outdoor feel" while indoors.
When pressed on the issue, Jones sarcastically suggested tearing the stadium down and building a new one rather than simply closing the curtains.
Most NFL stadiums are oriented north-south to prevent players from looking directly into the sun. AT&T Stadium's unusual east-west alignment causes intense glare through massive west-side windows during late-afternoon games, specifically affecting plays in the end zone.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones faces backlash over refusal to install blackout curtains
The owner's questionable decisions continue to frustrate supporters who demand significant organizational changes.
One fan commented, "If around thirty seasons with no Super Bowl appearances tells you anything, Jerry Jones listens to no one."
A second fan wrote, "Jerry Jones not only blinds his own players but also blinds the audience from watching the game. Terrible handling."
A third fan stated, "They have curtains for concerts/fights but he refuses for NFL games. They have not made a Super Bowl since built."
A fourth fan added, "Fire Jerry Jones. I want him to sell his team. Tired of this idiot."
A fifth fan declared, "Jerry Jones is the Cowboys' curse. They win a Super Bowl the first year he is not involved with the team anymore."
Many Cowboys fans are feeling very frustrated. They have been waiting for a long time to see their team win a championship, and they are tired of being disappointed.
