Moyes: ‘It's getting tougher every game we're not winning’

David Moyes and **Beto**broke down their reflections on a 2-2 stalemate between **Everton**and Crystal Palace as the Toffees threw away another opportunity to strengthen their stake for European football.

‘We missed some big chances to make it 2-0’

James Tarkowski gave the guests an early lead in the first half, and Beto replicated the feat after the restart, but Ismaila Sarr and Jean-Philippe Mateta responded on either side of halftime for the Eagles.

Moyes’ men have made a bad habit of dropping points in the latter stages of league fixtures. They conceded a late Virgil van Dijk header in a 2-1 loss against Liverpool, sacrificed a point in a 2-1 defeat to West Ham after Callum Wilson bagged a brace, and were pegged back through goals from Erling Haaland and Jeremy Doku in a 3-3 draw against Everton at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Their bid for continental competition remains alive, but better game management would help the cause.

" We did OK. We gave up some chances - the game could have been 4-4 or 5-5 at one point.

"We are trying to win at the moment, but we missed some big chances to make it 2-0. They did as well - but we had a chance to go 2-0, and we didn't take it. Maybe, if we had got that after midweek, it might have been a different game. Credit to Crystal Palace, they stuck in.

“[Beto] is great with his work rate and what he tries to do. He's limited in other aspects, but you're just beginning to see some goals. I need him to score a few more from now till the end of the season.

"It's amazing that we are actually talking about Everton possibly being in Europe with two games to go - and we're not out of it yet. It's getting tougher every game we're not winning."

**Beto**also spoke to **Sky Sports**after the final whistle, articulating his feelings about another draw.

"I needed to be patient. I knew it was going to be a tough game. It was a tough half, and the defenders are strong and fast, so I needed to find a way, and when I got my chance, I was ready to take it.

“It is a little bit disappointing to get one point, but the game was really difficult. They had a really good system. They have good players and a good manager. It is always difficult to come here.

“We are still fighting. We need to keep going and try to win the next two games. You can say it was a missed opportunity, but we are still in it, so we just need to focus on the next game."
