Former Ohio State CB Davison Igbinosun signs rookie contract with Buffalo Bills

Davison Igbinosun didn't arrive at Ohio State with the fanfare of a hometown hero or the pedigree of a five-star prospect. He came from Union, New Jersey, transferred in from Ole Miss and went about the quiet business of earning starts, making plays and building a reputation as one of the more dependable cornerbacks in college football. By the end of his time in Columbus, NFL teams were paying attention.

Now, the deal is done. The Buffalo Bills officially announced Friday that they have signed Igbinosun to his four-year rookie contract. Buffalo selected the 6-foot-2, 193-pound cornerback with the No. 62 overall pick in the second round of the 2026 NFL Draft, trading up to take the cornerback.

Igbinosun, who will wear No. 21 in Buffalo. established himself as a four-star recruit and No. 4 cornerback in the country, according to the 247Sports rankings, drawing interest from programs across the country before committing to Ole Miss. He wasted no time making an impact in Oxford, starting 10 of 13 games as a true freshman — a sign of things to come for a player who would go on to build one of the most durable résumés in this draft class.

After one season with the Rebels, Igbinosun entered the transfer portal and chose Ohio State, where he spent the next three seasons becoming one of the anchors of a historically dominant Buckeyes defense. He started 42 of the Scarlet and Gray's 43 games from 2023 to 2025, finishing his time in Columbus with 157 total tackles, 22 passes defended, four interceptions and three fumble recoveries. For his entire college career across 56 games, Igbinosun totaled 194 tackles, 27 pass defenses and four picks.

His senior season was his best. Igbinosun earned second-team All-Big Ten honors in 2025 after finishing with 52 tackles, eight pass breakups and two interceptions after allowing just 22 catches and zero touchdowns in coverage. He was also part of the Ohio State program that won the 2024 national championship.

At the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, Igbinosun backed up his film with elite measurables: a 4.45 40-yard dash paired with nearly 33-inch arm length — numbers that gave Buffalo's front office the confidence that his imposing frame would translate to the next level. General manager Brandon Beane attended Ohio State's Pro Day personally to watch Igbinosun and came away convinced enough to execute the trade.

The self-described "nasty, edgy" cornerback from New Jersey built his college career the hard way — earning every start, at two different programs, across four seasons. Buffalo is betting he brings that same mentality to his first NFL team.
