This Doesn’t Feel Like Liverpool Anymore

Honestly, I can’t remember enjoying a Liverpool season less since Roy Hodgson was manager.

But somehow this feels even worse.

Back then Liverpool were already declining. This time we came into the season as champions after spending big money to strengthen the squad, so nobody expected things to fall apart like this.

Injuries have obviously hurt Liverpool badly this season and that can’t be ignored.

But for me the biggest issue hasn’t even been the defeats.

It’s the football.

Everything just feels passive now.

Liverpool go ahead in games and instead of pushing for another goal, they drop deeper and invite pressure onto themselves.

The intensity has disappeared and so has the fear factor.

Watching Liverpool used to feel exciting. Now it often feels flat and predictable.

The worrying thing is there’s no real sign of improvement either.

It feels like we’re watching the same game every week.

Same problems.

Same slow football.

Same frustrating decisions.

That’s why a lot of supporters are struggling to believe things will suddenly improve next season just because Arne Slot says they will.

At the moment, there’s honestly very little on the pitch giving fans confidence that Liverpool are moving forward.
