Jeremy Jacquet bid farewell to Rennes supporters in his final appearance at Roazhon Park ahead of his Liverpool move in the summer.
While Jacquet is still sidelined with a shoulder injury, he was presented on the pitch ahead of Rennes’ final home game of the season on Sunday.
The centre-back has not played since February 7 after undergoing surgery for a serious shoulder injury, though he is expected to be available for the start of pre-season.
He has said multiple goodbyes since his future £55 million move to Liverpool was sanctioned in January, but he had one final one in front of Rennes’ home fans at Roazhon Park.

Jacquet was given a framed design of his time at the club and delivered a farewell speech to supporters before his side won 2-1 to secure a European spot next season.
“I arrived here 11 or 12 years ago, I didn’t always have easy beginnings, whether at the academy or here,” Jacquet said as he addressed Rennes’ supporters with reporters, including ICI Armorique.
“They didn’t give up on me, even when things started going well for me, they encouraged me every second. So thank you to them.”

With his move to Liverpool beckoning, he was also asked if he has had time to look at what Liverpool is like, he said: “Yeah, I’ve got time for that. I’ve already started, but I have time.”
Liverpool’s advanced deal for the 20-year-old was expected to see the Frenchman play a key role in Rennes’ second half of the season, but he has had to watch their last 12 games from the sidelines.
It is not ideal for the defender or Liverpool, with Giovanni Leoni also befalling the same fate, but Jacquet should benefit from a full pre-season after his summer break, which will likely include finding a place to settle in England.

If Ibrahima Konate remains at Anfield, as is hoped, he will have two national compatriots to lean on, though Hugo Ekitike will still be recovering from his serious Achilles injury.
After his signing was announced in January, Arne Slot said: “Very pleased, of course, because first of all he’s a very big talent, maybe even more than a talent – but we speak about talent because of his age of course.”
