Lionel Messi is one individual who will be able to sympathise with Chelsea star Cole Palmer.
Palmer’s season has been ravaged by injuries, with the attacking midfielder suffering with pubalgia earlier in the campaign.
Palmer is fit again and playing, but it is clear that his injuries have taken a toll on him.
His performances have not been up to standard, but listening to what Messi has said about pubalgia in the past, the 24-year-old perhaps deserves some leeway.
Realistically, how much is Cole Palmer worth?🤔

Lionel Messi described pubalgia as ‘complicated’ injury with it impacting Cole Palmer at Chelsea this season
In 2019, Messi spoke about just how troublesome pubalgia is, a type of groin injury that is not easy to manage.
He told Radio Club Octubre: “Pubalgia is complicated. I have suffered from it for a while now. I do little training, and I cannot play all the games. It is not a problem that can be solved overnight. I feel better now, but I still have not recovered, and I still need treatment.”
Fortunately for the world of football, Messi was able to overcome pubalgia and return to his best. Hopefully, Palmer can do the same thing.
His lack of form has coincided with Chelsea’s struggles of late. He was able to help Calum McFarlane’s side draw against Liverpool at the weekend, but before that, they were on a run of six consecutive defeats in the Premier League.

Had Palmer been at the top of his game, some of those losses would have easily been wins. That run means Chelsea now basically have to write off their Premier League campaign.
Champions League qualification now appears to be out of sight for the Blues. The only thing they have left to play for is the FA Cup.
Chelsea take on Manchester City at Wembley this Saturday and need Palmer at his best if they are to have any chance of beating Pep Guardiola’s men.
The Club World Cup holders have already lost to City this season. Their most recent match came last month, a 3-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge.
A similar scoreline this weekend would not shock anyone, but hopefully Palmer and Co are able to pull off an upset.
