Sunderland midfielder responds to Liverpool transfer rumour – Latest LFC News

Sunderland‘s Enzo Le Fee has responded to a transfer rumour linking him to Liverpool, and the plans for Diogo Jota‘s memorial have been unveiled.

Enzo Le Fee responds to Liverpool transfer rumour

Given Curtis Jones could leave and Alexis Mac Allister‘s form is showing no sign of improvement, Liverpool could look for fresh blood in midfield this summer.

The latest name to be linked is that of Sunderland‘s Le Fee, who has five goals and five assists in 38 appearances this season.

The reliability of the transfer rumour isn’t particularly strong, though, with TEAMtalk reporting the Reds are keen on the 26-year-old.

Despite the weakness of the source, Le Fee was asked about the rumour and told media including the Sunderland Echo:

“It’s always good to hear something like this, but it’s only the media part.

“I just care about the end of the season. I think we’ve got two big games now and I’m only focused on the pitch.”

While we wouldn’t expect Le Fee to be top of Liverpool’s list, it is possible that he is among the players being assessed by the club.

More from This Is Anfield

Danny Gallagher took time to look at Anfield’s frustration with Liverpool’s performance against Chelsea and how Arne Slot has taken a gamble with his latest comments:

“There is a growing disparity here between what the fans are feeling and what the club is looking towards, with little communication link between the two. This is crucial.

“What is now happening makes little sense. Liverpool are constantly underperforming and the under-fire manager is only speaking in terms of remedies when put on the spot – typically by yet another news crew after more points have been dropped.

As a result, Slot is constantly pleading his case to an already incensed jury, all but putting himself in the last-chance saloon by default.”

• West Ham are to contact the PGMOL about their late disallowed goal against Arsenal – the issue is surely with consistency rather than whether the decision was correct or not

• Chelsea are aiming to appoint a manager by mid-June and have a shortlist of five or six names, including Xabi Alonso and Andoni Iraola (Sky Sports)

• Jose Mourinho is becoming increasingly likely to be appointed as the next Real Madrid manager (Sky Sports) – well, it would be entertaining!

Liverpool FC: What to watch

Watch Yan Diomande Expert Q&A

Watch Bundesliga commentator Dan O’Hagan explain why he thinks Yan Diomande should be Liverpool’s top transfer target on our YouTube channel here.

Mo Salah‘s exit and Hugo Ekitike‘s long-term injury have made the signing of at least one fast winger a must for Liverpool this summer.

Yan Diomande has been noted as an option for the Reds by several journalists, including the Times‘ Paul Joyce, despite having arrived in Europe less than 18 months ago.

With 12 goals and nine assists so far in his debut campaign for RB Leipzig, the 19-year-old’s price tag is already being touted at £85m – and after listening to a Bundesliga expert, it is evident why.
