Jets sign two players after minicamp tryouts

Over the weekend the Jets conducted their rookie minicamp. This gave the coaching staff a chance a first chance to work with players the team drafted and signed as undrafted free agents.

The Jets also had 30 players participate in the camp to try out for the team. Most of those players were undrafted rookies but the list did include the odd veteran.

The team has signed two of the tryout players to contracts.

> Young, one of 31 tryouts at rookie minicamp, appeared in 17 games with the Saints in 2024 while making four starts at RG and one at LG. A sixth-round pick out of Kentucky in 2021, Young (6-7, 321) is a fifth-year lineman who appeared in 56 games with New Orleans from 2021-24 and started 12 contests.

> Keller (6-3, 235) was one of the Jets’ 31 rookie tryouts during minicamp. The Virginia Tech product played in 11 games (6 starts) last season and ranked third on the team with 50 tackles. In 2024, Keller played in 13 games (7 starts) and totaled 83 tackles. In 52 games for the Hokies, Keller finished with 181 tackles (78 solo), 7.5 TFL, 1.5 sacks, 2 FF and 2 FR.

Both players face an uphill climb to make the 53 man roster, but they at least did enough in a short weekend to catch the attention of the coaching staff.
