Luke Combs was going to play at the historic home of the Green Bay Packers no matter what.
The country music superstar is currently out on his My Kinda Saturday Night Tour. Earlier this year, Combs released his “I’m back” project – the high-energy The Way I Am album. Safe to say, the fans have responded enthusiastically to that record, and have packed stadiums along his tour every chance they’ve gotten.
The “Ain’t No Love in Oklahoma” has even broken two long-standing attendance records during stops in Ohio and Tennessee.
Soon, Combs will have his sights on the historic Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin. His world tour will be the fifth ever to stop at Lambeau, and the first big concert in the Packers stadium since Paul McCartney played there in 2019. Why has it been so long since Lambeau hosted a concert?
Well, Gabrielle Dow, the Packers vice president of marketing and fan engagement, told the Green Bay Press Gazette that the venue that’s stood in Green Bay since 1957 is selective with who they let play there:
“We’re very particular about who is performing in this building, and you had better be able to sell out and fill our stadium. That’s one reason. Secondly, is the act iconic enough to play here as well?
We get solicited and offered up to host tons of different events but … we kind of look at that and go, ‘Okay, is this somebody who should be part of our brand? That would sell out the building? That is historical enough to play at Lambeau?’”
Luke Combs checked all of those boxes.
And the approval of his two-night stop in Green Bay did come with some stipulations from the stadium. For the rest of Combs’ My Kinda Saturday Night Tour, his stage set up is at center field, and features a sizable in-the-round stage. With Lambeau Field, they require that concerts only use end zone stages, so that the field stays preserved and promotes the growth of grass more.
Dow says Combs was happy to oblige with the necessary stage change, mostly because he has always considered playing at the home of the Green Bay Packers as a bucket list item:
“Luke changed his stage to play here… he went out and created an end zone stage to play here. That’s really special and unique… He’s kind of fulfilling his bucket list. He wants to play Lambeau Field. That is something he talks about.”
Hope Carolina Panthers fans don’t get too upset hearing that.
So now, Combs will join the likes of Paul McCartney, Billy Joel, and Kenny Chesney (he’s played Lambeau twice) as artists who have been fortunate enough to play in Green Bay’s beloved stadium. It’s a short and impressive list, and one that Luke Combs will fit into quite nicely.
The Packers organization thinks so too. Megan Roberson, the manager of booking and event operations for the Packers, had this to say about how well Luke Combs fits into the spirit of everything that Green Bay prides itself in being:
“He’s such a good human and really prides himself on his values and being a family man and is really proud of his wife and his children, and I think that really aligns with the Green Bay Packers community. Not only did he want to come for one night, he wanted to come for two nights.”
His next two tour stops will be at Lambeau Field. After that, Luke Combs will go out of the country to fulfill the rest of his 2026 tour dates. You can view the full list of concert dates, locations, and venues below:
