Chelsea's shortlist of candidates to take over as the club's new permanent head coach features Cesc Fabregas, Oliver Glasner and Filipe Luis. The Blues are on the search for a permanent replacement for Liam Rosenior following his sacking.
The trio join Andoni Iraola, Xabi Alonso and Marco Silva to round off a six-man shortlist of contenders vying for the job at Stamford Bridge, reports our sister title football.london. Sources indicate that Chelsea are aiming to have a new head coach in position by the middle of next month, ahead of what promises to be a hectic summer in the transfer market for the Blues.
They are widely expected to be extremely active on the signing front this summer, with a centre-back, central midfielder and left-sided winger all firmly on the club's wish list. For now, however, Chelsea's five-strong sporting leadership team remain firmly focused on the task of naming a new head coach.
Fabregas remains a possibility for the Blues, though sources suggest the former Chelsea, Arsenal and Barcelona midfielder is eager to remain at Como beyond this summer, following a remarkable season with the Serie A outfit. It was confirmed at the weekend that Como have secured European football for the first time in their history - just two years after earning promotion to Italy's top flight.
Glasner, meanwhile, will be available once the campaign concludes after announcing back in January that he would be leaving Crystal Palace this summer. The Austrian is hoping to bow out in style at Selhurst Park and secure back-to-back trophies by winning the Conference League final against Rayo Vallecano later this month.

As for Luis, the former Chelsea left-back has enjoyed a fruitful two-year spell with Flamengo in Brazil. He steered Flamengo to the Brazilian championship in his first season at the helm and then claimed the 2025 Copa Libertadores.
However, back in March, the 40-year-old was bizarrely dismissed moments after his side romped to an 8-0 victory in the Campeonato Carioca semi-final. Luis has been without a club since and is being considered by Chelsea.
The likes of Alonso, Silva and Iraola remain on Chelsea's radar, and it is understood nothing has progressed significantly as things stand regarding who will take over from Rosenior.
