The Chicago Bears finished with an 11-6 record last season. Chicago was the number two seed in the NFC. It was also the first time they have won the NFC North title since the 2018 season. The Bears have a chance to be elite once again in Ben Johnson’s second season as head coach and Caleb Williams’s third season as quarterback.

Chicago is wondering where they will be playing in Week 1 to begin the 2026 NFL season. They are projected to face the Seattle Seahawks on the road at some point during the 2026 NFL season. What are the odds that the Bears begin the season on the road against the defending champions? Seattle was the one seed in the NFC last season with a 14-3 record. The Seahawks and the Bears did not play each other in the playoffs last season.

The full 2026 NFL season schedule will be released on Thursday, May 14th. In the meantime, there are going to be schedule leaks potentially by insiders and other Twitter accounts as well. ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter appeared on the Pat McAfee Show on ESPN on Monday afternoon. Schefter said about Chicago potentially going on the road in Week 1,
“Every day there seems to be another element of the schedule that comes out.. We’re gonna get the international games on Wednesday.. My guess right now is that it will be the Bears in Seattle for the Wednesday night opener against the Seahawks.”
It would no doubt be a very good draw for the national audience to kickoff the 2026 NFL season. Chicago and Seattle are two of the premier teams in the NFC and many think that they will be elite once again this season. The Bears and Seahawks offense will be very good potentially as the 2026 NFL season approaches here also.
