The [Seattle Seahawks](https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nfl/seattle-seahawks) will soon embark on their quest to become repeat Super Bowl champions.
As the summer months approach, they are still among the favorites to hoist the Lombardi Trophy in the 2026 season. Seattle is still one of the deepest teams in the league, and their draft selections only helped.
The Seahawks made eight selections, and according to [ESPN's Field Yates](https://www.espn.com/nfl/draft2026/story/_/id/48702987/2026-nfl-draft-rookie-year-impact-middle-late-rounders), one of their best picks came in the fifth round.
Yates compiled a list of some of the best Day 2 and 3 draft picks who could make an immediate impact, and Seahawks newer rookie, guard Beau Stephens, is the choice for the defending champions.
"Defending Super Bowl champions don't have many weaknesses, but interior offensive line was a position group the Seahawks wanted to address. I had a fourth-round grade on Stephens, who went early in Round 5, and he should be a hand-in-glove fit for Seattle's heavy-zone-run scheme.
"Like many Iowa offensive linemen, Stephens is fundamentally sound. He strikes with a good base supporting him, deftly uses leverage and moves his feet extremely well. I think Stephens can push for starting right guard Anthony Bradford's spot."
Seahawks add physical presence in Beau Stephens
-----------------------------------------------
Stephens, the former Iowa Hawkeye, is a big body who could certainly be a force for the Seahawks.
He stands at 6-foot-5 and weighs 315 pounds, and the 23-year-old possesses exceptional traits that make him an intriguing prospect. Stephens features a strong snatch-trap counter that allows him to flip leverage against pass rushers who try to overpower him with bull rushes or long-arm moves.
What also makes Stephen a true asset is his consistency in the run game—his timing and assignment execution grade out among the best in his class, with very few missed fits or mental errors showing up on film.
The Seahawks have what it takes to be the last team standing, and they've done enough to reload for the 2026 season.
