Donald Trump is the current U. S. President and is a known face among everyone. Despite being the President of the country, he is also quite involved in the NFL. He attended the 2025 Super Bowl game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs after winning his Presidency.
Recently, he was quite vocal about the NFL’s policies, including criticizing the Bad Bunny Super Bowl 2026 halftime performance. He is now criticizing the league once again.
Donald Trump claims streaming NFL game cost $1,000
Trump recently criticized the NFL’s growing shift toward exclusive streaming platforms. He did it during an interview with Full Measure News. During the conversation with host Sharyl Attkisson, he said he was displeased with the league’s media strategy.
He said that the NFL has more games behind paywalls on services such as Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, Peacock, and YouTube TV. The federal government is currently investigating the NFL’s broadcasting deals.

He said, “But they have to be careful because, you know, others have tried this and all of a sudden, you don’t have a sport anymore. Probably will. There’s something very sad when they take football away from many, many people. Very sad. I don’t like it.”
When asked if the government would intervene, he replied, “I don’t know, but I don’t like it. I don’t like it. They’re making a lot of money. They could make a little bit less. They could let the people see. You have people that live for Sunday. They live. They can’t think about anything else and then all of a sudden they’re going to have to pay a thousand dollars a game. It’s crazy. So I’m not happy about it.”
However, many pointed out that his claim that a game costs a $1,000 was wildly incorrect. According to Alex Groberman, a fan would need to spend nearly $1,000 to watch every game in a full season across 10 different subscriptions. Trump’s incorrect claim got many fans to mock him.
Fans roast Donald Trump for mistakenly claiming a game costs $1,000
Many fans slammed Trump due to his claim that a game costs $1,000 to stream.
One user said, “Coming from a guy that does nothing but lie and takes people money and has services done but doesn’t pay them…”
A second user wrote, “This guy lecturing you about anything is laughable”.
A third user replied, “Grandpa, why don’t you worry about keeping yourself awake and in your meeting since instead of worrying about the NFL that you know nothing bout!!!”
Another added, “Bro Doesn’t Watch Football”.
A fifth user remarked, “The man is an idiot. Spouting untrue things out of his rear end and his base just laps it all up. The NFL is not losing money. Not by a long shot. It is definitely not costing people even a fraction of $1000 a game.”
A sixth user commented, “I don’t think the NFL should take advise from the same guy who bankrupted the USFL”.
Donald Trump’s wrong claim is getting him a lot of backlash, and it remains to be seen what else he comments about the NFL.
