New England Patriots kicker Andy Borregales and his wife, Sofia, shared a major life update on Mother’s Day.

The couple announced on Instagram that they are expecting their first child together, posting a series of maternity photos alongside a heartfelt caption that quickly drew attention from friends, teammates, and fans.

“Our greatest blessing,” Sofia wrote in the post before adding, “Happy Mother’s Day!”

The photos showed the couple posing together outdoors while holding a small baby outfit embroidered with the words “Baby Borregales.”

The announcement immediately sparked an outpouring of congratulations in the comments section.

“Congrats!!!!! So happy for you guys,” Ann Michael Maye, the wife of Patriots quarterback Drake Maye, commented.

“Congrats you two! so exciting!!!” wrote Parker Henry.

“Let’s gooo so happy for you guys!!” former Miami teammate Ryan Coe added.

Several others also celebrated the news, with one commenter calling the announcement “such a blessing.”

Andy Borregales Coming Off Strong Rookie Season

Borregales is coming off his first NFL season with the Patriots after being selected in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft out of Miami.

The kicker quickly won New England’s starting job and appeared in 17 games during his rookie season. Borregales finished the year making 27 of 32 field goal attempts while also converting 53 extra points.

He also helped the Patriots reach Super Bowl LX during his first NFL season.

Before arriving in New England, Borregales built an impressive college career at Miami, where he became one of the most reliable kickers in the country and left the program as the Hurricanes’ all-time leading scorer with 405 total points.

Now, the 23-year-old is preparing for another major milestone away from football as he and his wife get ready to welcome their first child.

Patriots Offseason Continues With Feel-Good Moment

The Mother’s Day announcement quickly became a feel-good moment for Patriots fans during a busy offseason surrounding the team.

While much of the attention in New England has centered around Drake Maye, Mike Vrabel, and the Patriots’ roster moves, Borregales’ post gave fans a more personal glimpse into one of the younger players on the roster.

The timing of the announcement also made the moment especially meaningful, with the couple choosing Mother’s Day to publicly share the news.

Borregales and his wife have not yet revealed the baby’s due date, but based on the photos shared online, the couple appears set to welcome their first child later this year.
