Bills to face NFC powerhouse for 2026 home opener

The Buffalo Bills will be moving into a new stadium in 2026, and the NFL has given the AFC East franchise the best welcome present.

With the entire 2026 schedule set to be released this week, in the days prior to the actual reveal, we get plenty of leaks.

We already know a couple of games, but we didn't see Buffalo mentioned anywhere...until now.

It has now been confirmed that the Bills, in Week 2, their home opener, will host the Detroit Lions in a game expected to be absolutely sensational.

Bills get ideal chance to welcome new era

A new stadium, a new head coach, and facing one of the NFC's best at home, the Bills have the perfect chance to lay down an early-season marker.

While playing at home in Week 2 likely means Buffalo is on the road in Week 1, that is likely not a thought right now, as Bills Mafia will be making plans to have the stadium rocking when the Lions arrive in town.

It will be an early test of Joe Brady's credentials as a head coach, so too will it be a test for new defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard as well, going up against Jared Goff and Co.

The Bills likely wanted a big name to help open their new stadium, and the Lions are box office.
