Last Tuesday, the Dallas Cowboys’ 31-year-old starting edge rusher decided to leave Dallas for a one-year deal with the Super Bowl-winning Seattle Seahawks.
“Veteran edge rusher Dante Fowler Jr. is signing with the Seahawks on a one-year deal worth up to $5 million,” NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported on X/Twitter.
“The No. 3 overall pick in the 2015 draft, Fowler is now entering his 12th NFL season. Deal negotiated by Sean Kiernan and Tom Povinelli ofAthletes First.”
On Monday, the move became official, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
“Seahawks officially signed former Cowboys LB Dante Fowler Jr.,” Schefter stated.
Fowler joined the Cowboys in 2022 after spending 3.5 seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars, 1.5 with the Los Angeles Rams, and two with the Atlanta Falcons. In his first two seasons with Dallas, Fowler recorded 40 tackles, 10 sacks, and three forced fumbles.
After the 2023-24 campaign, the Florida product joined the Washington Commanders and had one of the best pass-rushing seasons of his career. Fowler finished the year with 39 tackles, 10.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles on a Washington squad that reached the NFC Championship game.
The 6-foot-3 defender reunited with the Cowboys in 2025, appearing in all 17 of Dallas’ regular-season contests and totaling 15 tackles to go with three sacks.
While Fowler wasn’t great with Dallas, it’s reasonable to assume the franchise isn’t thrilled about losing him to the Seahawks this offseason.
