On Friday, the New York Jets agreed to a three-year contract with Breece Hall that is worth up to $45.75 million.
Hall has been a staple of the Jets’ offense since he was taken in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft. He had a breakout year on the 3-14 Jets last season, rushing for a career high 1,065 yards and four touchdowns. He added 350 receiving yards and one touchdown in the passing game.
Second-year head coach Aaron Glenn believes Hall will be a key contributor for a New York offense looking to turn things around in the upcoming season.
“I’ve said all along I wanted Breece to be here,” Glenn said in a statement, via the Jets. “He’s a good football player that can help us win games. He has shown the ability to consistently make plays and have real impact on the outcome of games. We’re excited to keep him here as we continue to build a team that can compete each week.”
After taking defensive end David Bailey with the No. 2 pick, the Jets invested heavily in the offense, taking tight end Kenyon Sadiq with the No. 16 pick before trading back into the first round to take wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr. with the No. 30 selection.
Hall is excited for what the Jets are building this offseason.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue my career with the Jets,” Hall said. “Through it all, this organization and our fanbase have continued to believe in me. This is where I want to be. I believe in what we’re building… Let’s get to work.”
With receiver Garrett Wilson, Cooper and Sadiq needing to be accounted for by defenses, Hall could have an even better season in 2026. However, the Jets will need Geno Smith to look more like the quarterback he was in 2024 for the offense to be a threat in the AFC East.
