After sitting out the entire 2025 NFL season with a torn Achilles tendon he suffered during training camp, Bryce Ford-Wheaton is attempting a comeback in 2026.
Breaking down the news on social media, Fox NFL Insider Jordan Schultz revealed how Ford-Weaton has progressed from his late July tear and when he could begin working for NFL teams amid his comeback pursuit.

On paper, Ford-Wheaton is the kind of player any NFL team would love to bring in at this time of year as a bottom-of-the-roster dark horse. He has great size at nearly 6-foot-4, 221 pounds, has long arms, and ran a 4.38 40-yard dash after a five-year career at West Virginia.
Sure, Ford-Wheaton never recorded more than 675 yards during his college career and had just 15 touchdowns over 143 receptions despite being seemingly designed in a lab to be a redzone threat. But over 14 games with the Giants in 2024 as a second-year player, Ford-Wheaton logged 286 snaps on special teams for Michael Ghobrial's unit, amassing five total tackles for his trouble. As teams look to prioritize special teams more thanks to the new kickoff rule, the market should be fairly strong for a 26-year-old with traits and immediate upside in the NFL's third phase.
