CBS has added a Saturday NFL game to its broadcast roster for the 2026 NFL season, just days after FOX Sports did the same.
During an investor call on Monday, FOX CEO Lachlan Murdoch announced that the first of two regular-season contests in the acquisition would occur in Week 10. FOX Sports will broadcast an international game from Munich, Germany, before continuing with its regular airing of early-afternoon and late-afternoon NFL slates — marking the first-ever “tripleheader” in television history.
The second game coming to FOX — whose owner, Rupert Murdoch, allegedly “lobbied” President Donald Trump to trigger a government probe into the NFL’s media rights deals — will take place in Week 15 on Saturday. CBS will also broadcast a game that evening, with FOX taking charge of the late-afternoon slot.

CBS will televise the national NFL game at 8 p.m. on Saturday, December 19 — in Week 15. The game will stream on Paramount+ in addition to the CBS broadcast.
In recent years, several streaming platforms have acquired NFL game broadcasting rights, including Amazon's Prime Video, Netflix, and Peacock. The surge of streaming services entering the football market has strained fans' wallets; a recent Forbes calculation indicates that it would have cost roughly $765 to stream every game during the 2025 season.
Earlier this year, the NFL began shopping the broadcasting rights to four games that were previously part of Monday Night Football doubleheaders, as well as the rights to a Week 1 game played in Australia. Since the 2021 campaign, the league screened two contests simultaneously or three hours apart on Monday night.

NBC announced it will carry two Saturday games that week. There will be a pair of games played on Saturday, January 2; the first will kick off at 4:30 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on both NBC and Peacock, while the second game will be at 8 p.m. ET and will stream exclusively on Peacock.
The late game will be the fifth NFL game exclusively shown on Peacock. The teams taking part in these games have not been announced, while in recent years the NFL has set aside a handful of games that can be flexed to the Saturday window.
The NFL is set to reveal its full schedule on Thursday, May 14.
