"The money is still there."Sky Sports'monumental Liverpool transfer update

**Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol reports that Mohamed Salah is the number one priority transfer target for major Saudi Pro League clubs this summer.**

_“The funds are in place for a big Saudi club to sign Mo Salah this summer,”_ Solhekol reports.

_“Mo Salah is the priority target for the Saudi Pro League.”_

Liverpool rejected a monumental bid for Salah in 2023 that was worth a reported £150m. At the time, some journalists and pundits criticised the Reds for not selling a 31-year-old Salah for what would have been by far the biggest Premier League player sale ever.

However, his 29 goals and 18 assists to almost single-handedly clinch the Premier League title last season more than vindicated that decision, even if it means the Egyptian will leave the club for free this season.

The Sky Sports journalist then added: _“The Saudis are saying that their league has been extraordinarily successful over the past three years._

_“They’re saying total commercial revenue has more than quadrupled. Those are their figures. So the money is in place, despite the Middle East conflict, despite what we’ve been reporting about them pulling out of LIV Golf._

_“When it comes to big football players like Mo Salah, the money is still there.”_

Liverpool set to give Mo Salah an emotional farewell

----------------------------------------------------

Salah is set to be fit to face Brentford on the final day of the Premier League season, and potentially, against Aston Villa this weekend.

The Egyptian will be sorely missed by Liverpool fans after nine years of incredible attacking football. In his nearly 10 years on Merseyside, Salah has 257 goals and 122 assists in 440 games.

There isn’t a Liverpool forward that has come close to Salah in the modern era.

It’s going to be a massive challenge to replace him and based on the attackers available this summer, it might be an impossible task.

Michael Olise is the only player who fits the bill, but Bayern Munich will not sanction the sale of a player with 22 goals and 30 assists in 50 games.

In some ways, it’s fitting that Salah will leave such a gaping hole in the team when he leaves.
