As Chelsea search for a new permanent manager, their former head coach Enzo Maresca has been discussing the possibility of becoming the new Manchester City boss.
Enzo Maresca was sacked by Chelsea on New Year’s Day, with his replacement Liam Rosenior meeting the same fate just three months after his hiring.
Chelsea believed the project they had was good enough without Maresca, however the sharp turn in results has seen them now struggling to qualify for any form of European football.

Enzo Maresca responds to Man City links
The Italian has been strongly linked with taking over at Man City if Pep Guardiola decides to leave at the end of the season after his experience working alongside the Spaniard.
Maresca was asked about this prospect at the Gianni Di Marzio awards ceremony, and admitted he feels he is ready to return to management after four months have passed since his Chelsea exit.

He said: “I feel ready for the next chapter. That’s the most important thing. A future at Manchester City? What matters, regardless of the club, is being ready. There are only a few weeks left until the end of the season, then we’ll see what happens.”
Maresca has no interest in returning to Chelsea as they look for a new manager to take over from the start of next season.
Calum McFarlane has been tasked with the interim job until the end of the campaign, including Saturday’s FA Cup final.

Alonso has impressed in early talks with the club, and is said to be open to the prospect of managing the club next season.
