The heat around Chelsea’s new manager search is rising quite high this week with plenty of reports coming out.
Yesterday, things really picked up around it and mostly around former Real Madrid boss Xabi Alonso being linked with the role.

Chelsea fans have been getting quite excited by the prospect of Alonso potentially becoming their new head coach this summer. But at the same time, most of them will be hugely cautious about it happening and will not want to be getting too excited or dead set on it yet, because they’ve seen it all before under these owners and they know that nothing is done yet.
Alonso is obviously one of the main contenders for the role, but Andoni Iraola is still being mentioned a lot as well, with the Bournemouth manager leaving that position at the end of the season.

The Evening Standard have dropped their latest updates on the situation, and they report that Alonso and Iraola emerging as leading contenders, with both managers being above other names in Chelsea’s thinking.
