David Ornstein says talks between Liverpool and Ibrahima Konaté are still at a stalemate and, right now, things are not looking particularly positive.
There’s still hope something can be agreed because neither side has walked away, but it’s another situation dragging on at a time when Liverpool already have enough problems to deal with.
That’s the worrying thing for me.
Everywhere you look there seems to be another issue.
Manager uncertainty.
Contract problems.
Questions over transfers.
Questions over the style of play.
Questions over whether key players even want to stay.
Konaté should be one of the easier situations to sort out because when he’s fit he’s one of Liverpool’s most important players.
Instead, this now feels like another problem hanging over the club heading into the summer.
And honestly, what’s frustrating supporters most is that there’s still no real sign of any of these issues getting fixed.
Everything just feels uncertain at the moment.
That’s not where Liverpool should be after winning the league only a year ago.
