Liverpool may already be planning for life after Alisson. However, the Brazilian continues to show why replacing him will not be straightforward, and he’s now fit to face Aston Villa.
The 33-year-old has become the subject of growing interest from Juventus in recent weeks. Italian reports increasingly present him as a serious option for the Turin club’s new cycle.
Still, inside Arne Slot’s squad, Alisson remains one of the most decisive players. Before his injury, the goalkeeper had recorded 13 clean sheets in 34 appearances this season.
His absence over the past two months was felt heavily at both club and international level. This was especially true after early fears in Brazil that the thigh problem could even jeopardise his place at the World Cup.
That scenario now appears to have been avoided.
Return now expected
According to Globo Esporte journalist Cahê Mota, the Brazilian FA have information and confidence that Alisson will be available again very soon.
The expectation is that the Liverpool goalkeeper will return to Arne Slot’s squad for next weekend’s clash against Aston Villa. If Liverpool opt for a more cautious approach, then the belief is he would instead return against Brentford in the final Premier League round.
Either way, Brazil now expect him to be fit in time for Carlo Ancelotti’s upcoming squad announcement.
That represents a significant turnaround compared to the uncertainty surrounding the goalkeeper only a few weeks ago.
Juventus interest continues in background
Alisson’s future has continued throughout his recovery.
Juventus increasingly see the Liverpool player as a reliable and experienced solution between the posts. In addition, Luciano Spalletti’s past relationship with Alisson from their Roma days is also viewed in Italy as a potentially important factor if discussions ever accelerate.
However, Liverpool’s handling of the injury situation has again reinforced the goalkeeper’s status at Anfield.
Despite succession planning around Mamardashvili and growing transfer noise from Serie A, the expectation has always been that Alisson would immediately reclaim his place once fit.
That now appears set to happen before the season ends.
