Levi Colwill used one particular hobby to help him cope with Chelsea absence

Levi Colwill was easily Chelsea’s best player in their 1-1 draw with Liverpool last weekend.

However, it was only his first start of the season, with the Chelsea defender having just recovered from an ACL injury.

Colwill has missed almost the whole campaign because of that injury, which would have been difficult for the English youngster. He did find something to help him cope with not being on the pitch, though.

Lego helped Levi Colwill to cope with missing Chelsea games while out injured

Colwill is known to be a Lego enthusiast, and according to The Sun, he used his love of the toy to distract him from his injury woes.

The centre-back has clearly put what happened last summer behind him after producing an excellent performance at Anfield.

Peter Crouch thought Colwill was “fantastic”, and the 23-year-old will now be expected to start for Chelsea in this Saturday’s FA Cup final at Wembley.

The Blues face Manchester City for the trophy, and it will be interesting to see which centre-back Colwill lines up alongside if he gets the nod.

Wesley Fofana also played well against Liverpool, so it could be the Frenchman.

Chelsea need to rebuild defence

On the subject of building Lego sets, Chelsea’s defence could definitely do with being rebuilt. In the summer, they may need to bring in a new centre-half and goalkeeper.

While Fofana was pretty solid against Liverpool, his defending before that match had been quite questionable.

Going forward, Chelsea’s next manager probably needs a more consistent and dominant centre-back to play next to Colwill.

Liam Rosenior’s successor could be Xabi Alonso, who is starting to look like the frontrunner for the Chelsea job.

In terms of the goalkeeper position, the errors that both Robert Sanchez and Filip Jorgensen have made this season have convinced many that the Blues also need to bring in a new shot-stopper.

What Chelsea cannot afford to do is go into next season and assume that Colwill’s return is going to fix everything.
