Liverpool have officially unveiled a permanent memorial to Diogo Jota outside Anfield, a poignant tribute dedicated to the memory of their late attacker.
Diogo Jota was a beloved attacking presence throughout his time at Liverpool, with the Portuguese forward going on to pick up 65 goals and 26 assists across 182 appearances at Anfield.
Hoisting a Premier League title aloft, alongside lifting a singular FA Cup honour, and two EFL Cups with the Reds, he will go down in Liverpool’s history as a modern great.
Unfortunately, the Porto-born attacker’s life was cruelly cut short last July, leading to an outpouring of emotional tributes from those with connections to Liverpool and his former Premier League employers, Wolverhampton Wanderers.
With the 2025/26 season nearing its conclusion, Liverpool have now officially unveiled plans to honour Jota forevermore, as a permanent memorial will reside on Avenue 97 outside Anfield, where waves of Reds fans once placed flowers, shirts, and scarves to honour their much-loved forward.
The permanent memorial plans for Jota
The official Liverpool website has unveiled these plans, with the memorial affectionately titled ‘Forever 20’ to immortalise the entertaining number 20.
With the memorial set to have a flowing heart sculpture coming out of it, to acknowledge Jota’s famous celebration, it will also have lyrics from the Premier League winners’ well-recognised chant at Anfield, adorned on it.

There are no plans set in stone as to when Jota’s memorial will be officially unveiled to the public, but the Liverpool site stated that they hope the tribute to their much-loved servant “will serve as a permanent symbol of love, unity and remembrance, and a place where everyone can reflect, remember and pay their respects.”
In a classy touch, the tribute will further pay respects to Jota’s brother, Andre Silva, who also tragically passed away last July.

As noted in Liverpool’s official statement, Andre Silva – who once played alongside his brother at Porto as a youth player – will be immortalised forever in the memorial, as well.
Indeed, the flowing heart sculpture has both the numbers 20 and 30 flowing into each other, with the number 30 being the number Silva regularly wore during his own playing career.
With the memorial further set to have a plinth with dedications to both the brothers engraved, too, Liverpool really has got this tribute spot on, as both Jota and Silva will be remembered forever at Anfield.

The loss of their exciting number 20 has undoubtedly impacted Arne Slot‘s camp this season, but Liverpool fans will be hopeful that they can cheer their beloved Reds over the line to one final Premier League win to clinch Champions League football when Brentford come to Merseyside at the end of the month.
Then, a summer rebuild looks to be on the cards, with visits to Anfield next season likely occurring with this beautiful tribute standing outside Liverpool’s famous home ground.
