Liverpool defender Joe Gomez could be the latest senior figure to be heading out of Anfield this summer, with Newcastle United potential monitoring his situation.
The defender, who turns 29 on the final weekend of the season, has just 12 months remaining on his deal, with a series of niggling injuries limiting him to 15 starts across 31 appearances.
With £60million signing Jeremy Jacquet due to arrive from Rennes in the summer, and fellow centre-back Giovanni Leoni alongside the right-sided Conor Bradley both expected to return from serious knee injuries, Gomez could find his chances increasingly hard to come by.
As the club's longest-serving player, having joined in 2015, he still brings considerable experience and versatility to the table, capable of filling in anywhere across the back four — yet he may be forced to seek first-team football elsewhere.

The defender has managed just 48 appearances across the past two campaigns and has previously been linked with a switch to Newcastle, as well as AC Milan during the current season.
When quizzed on his future plans, Gomez said: "No. I think anything can happen. I don't know is the honest answer.
"I've only got a year left so I don't know, but whatever is meant to be will be, I guess.
"But I'm so grateful to have had this time here at this club. I'll always be grateful to have had 11 years at a place like this. All I can do is be thankful and we'll see."
Newcastle are yet to announce any movement on Fabian Schar's future, with the defender out of contract this summer. The Swiss stopper could be free to leave next month, leaving the Magpies with just three central defenders in Dan Burn. Sven Botman and Malick Thiaw.
Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson have already been confirmed as departures at the season's end, while goalkeeper Alisson Becker continues to be heavily linked with a move to Juventus.
Should Gomez also depart, it would leave only Virgil van Dijk – who turns 35 in July and likewise has just a year left on his deal – as the lone remaining player from the squad of Jurgen Klopp's golden era, which secured both the Champions League and Premier League in back-to-back seasons.
Head coach Arne Slot has indicated he anticipates the squad will undergo a "little transition" this summer, nothing as "drastic" as last year's £450m expenditure, yet the possible departure of four senior players would create a significant void within the group, not merely in terms of ability but also experience.
Thus far, there have been precious few instances of those recruited demonstrating leadership qualities on the pitch, though injuries have prevented the three biggest signings – Alexander Isak, Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike – from featuring together consistently.
