Xabi Alonso was reportedly desperate to sign Juventus winger Kenan Yildiz when he was in charge of Real Madrid, and he has been on the shortlist of Chelsea for a number of years too.
The Blues spent big money to address the left wing position last summer, however have been left disappointed with the performances of Alejandro Garnacho and Jamie Gittens.
The former Borussia Dortmund winger is going to end his first season at Stamford Bridge without a Premier League goal, while the Blues are already open to parting ways with Garnacho after just one season.

As reported by TuttoMercatoWeb back in October, Alonso was desperate to bring him to the Bernabeu, and was willing to let go of any player other than Kylian Mbappe to get him to Spain.
Yildiz has contributed to 21 goals in all competitions this season, and is enjoying his best goalscoring campaign in Serie A.
Yildiz has gotten the seal of approval from Chelsea legend Eden Hazard already, who stated that his kids are obsessed with watching the winger.
The Turkish international has signed a new deal recently with Juventus, however the Blues will always feel as if they have a chance bringing him in, especially if it would help attract Alonso to the deal.

It appears that Alonso has moved to the top of the shortlist for Chelsea in regards to who will become their new permanent manager.
The Spaniard has stood out to the club in early talks, with them believing he has the personality required to manage the current Chelsea squad.
The Blues are not expected to announce their new boss until the end of the season, giving Calum McFarlane the best possible chance to succeed for the rest of this campaign.
This includes Saturday’s FA Cup final against Manchester City, where a number of managerial candidates will likely be watching on.
