The 19-year-old has emerged as one of the breakthrough stars of the campaign. Bournemouth secured his signature from French side FC Lorient in February 2025 for just £10 million, beating off competition from West Ham, Tottenham, and RB Leipzig.
The Cherries agreed to let him remain on loan at Lorient for the remainder of the 2024-25 season, where he finished with an astonishing 22 goals in 30 Ligue 2 appearances. Fast forward to his first full Premier League campaign, and the French forward has been sensational, netting 12 goals in 31 league appearances at just 19 years of age.
As a result, he has attracted plenty of interest, not least from Liverpool who will be in the market for attacking reinforcements.
Liverpool sporting director Richard Hughes’ strong relationship with his former club could aid any potential move,
However, Cherries chief Tiago Pinto has issued a firm hands-off warning, in statements to 365scores (via Mundo Deportivo):
“Junior Kroupi will not leave Bournemouth. His contract is still more than four years long, there is no termination clause and he is not going anywhere.”
When questioned whether the club would sanction a sale if official bids arrived from Barcelona or Liverpool, he responded:
“We will not sell Kroupi even if Barcelona or Liverpool offer 100 million euros. That is completely ruled out.”
Pinto’s emphatic stance sends a clear message to Liverpool and their rivals: Kroupi is not for sale at any price this summer. With over four years remaining on his contract and no release clause to exploit, the Cherries are determined to build their future around the prolific teenager.
