Everton’s academy continues to produce talent. The latest youngster to commit his future to the club is a 17‑year‑old Wales youth international, Shea Pita, who has been turning heads for the youth circles this season. After a campaign that saw him overcome early injury setbacks, the teenager has now signed his first professional contract with the Toffees.

Shea Pita, who has represented Wales at youth level, has made 33 appearances across the Under‑18s and Premier League 2 this season, scoring six goals and providing five assists in 2,013 minutes of football. His form earned him regular minutes with the Under‑21s, where he has caught the eye of coaches and fans alike.

Shea Pita: ‘It has been a dream come true’

Speaking to Everton after putting pen to paper, the young attacker expressed his delight. “I feel amazing. It has been a dream come true. It is a great feeling to have signed my first professional deal. It has been a really good season for me so far.

“It was a bit of an up and down start to the season with injuries, but I think I found my feet towards Christmas time and I started really pushing up in to the Under-21s. I have really enjoyed it.”

He also reflected on the privilege of playing at both of Everton’s home grounds. “It is amazing to play at both Hill Dickinson Stadium and Goodison Park. I know all the history that Goodison Park possesses so to score there was amazing.”

Shea Pita pledges to improve further at Everton

The 17‑year‑old praised head coach Paul Tait for the support he has received. “He has been really good. All the players, coaches and staff have been really welcoming which has helped me settle in. I think I have settled in now and I am comfortable playing in the Under-21s.

“I am excited to keep improving and playing for this club that means so much to me.”

With Everton pushing for European football at first‑team level, the academy continues to provide a pipeline of promising talent. This forward’s first professional deal is a reward for his hard work and a sign of the belief the club has in his future.

As the season draws to a close, the young Welshman will hope to build on his impressive campaign and continue his development at Finch Farm. Everton fans may well see more of him in the years to come.
