The title is gone and Real Madrid's season appears to be reaching its end in a state of perma-farce.
The 2-0 defeat to champions Barcelona in El Clasico was preceded by a much-discussed dressing room fracas between Aurelien Tchouameni and Federico Valverde.
Earlier this week, ahead of Thursday's match against Real Oviedo at a potentially mutinous Santiago Bernabeu, long-serving club president Florentino announced he would not be resigning at an erratic press conference.
Alvaro Arbeloa appears to be coming towards the end of his time in charge as rumours swirl about a remarkable return to the Spanish capital for Jose Mourinho. For now, he must deal with a not inconsiderable list of abentees against already-relegated Oviedo.
The Sporting News brings you the rest of Real Madrid's injury list, as well as a look at their latest team news and a preview of how they could line up in their next game.

Real Madrid injury list
Below is the latest injury picture for Real Madrid, including estimated return dates for those who are sidelined.
Federico Valverde
Injury: Head
Expected return date: May 24 (vs. Athletic Club)
Valverde requires 10-14 days to recover from the head injury sustained in his altercation with Tchouameni. That means he likely won't play again until the final match of the season against Athletic Club.
Kylian Mbappe
Injury: Hamstring
Expected return date: May 14 (vs. Real Oviedo)
Mbappe was taken off against Real Betis with a hamstring problem and missed the 2-0 win at Espanyol. He remained absent against Barcelona amid an online poll from fans calling for him to be sold.
Dani Carvajal
Injury: Toe
Expected return date: May 24 (vs. Athletic Club)
Experienced right-back Carvajal is out of action with a broken toe. He could return before the end of the season and is out of contract in June.
Ferland Mendy
Injury: Thigh
Expected return date: TBD
It was thought that Mendy had suffered a more minor muscle injury, but the left-back has reportedly torn a rectus femoris tendon and sustained bone separation. There are suggestions that, given the complicated nature of the required surgery and the fact he would likely be sidelined for a year or more, the 30-year-old could decide to retire.
Arda Guler
Injury: Hamstring
Expected return date: TBD
The day before Madrid's game against Betis, it was announced that Guler had suffered an injury to the biceps femoris of his right leg. He was another big name to sit out El Clasico.
Eder Militao
Injury: Hamstring
Expected return date: TBD
On the same day they confirmed Guler's issue, Madrid also announced that Militao had sustained the same sort of injury in the left leg.
Rodrygo
Injury: ACL
Expected return date: September
Rodrygo has suffered a rupture of his anterior cruciate ligament and a rupture of the lateral meniscus in his right leg. This significant setback means the Brazil forward will miss the 2026 World Cup and he is likely to be sidelined for at least six months, possibly longer.
