Oliver Glasner outlined the objectives for his side ahead of the clash between Crystal Palace and Manchester City.
After a 2-2 draw against Everton on the weekend, the Eagles took another step towards topflight survival, and that reality was confirmed through a 1-1 stalemate between Tottenham and Leeds United on Monday evening.
‘We still want to improve our game’
Palace already had half an eye on their Conference League final against Rayo Vallecano, which takes place in a fortnight, and attention firmly turns to that cup competition in the background. But the team also have a significant say in the Premier League title race as they face both City and Arsenal, so the South London side sit in an interesting position as they prepare for that showpiece event.
"It's mathematically done which is always the foundation - staying in the league. But nothing changes to be honest. We still want to improve our game, do better, and show the best football we can play.
“This is the standards we have created here. We are not just playing for ourselves, we are playing to see the best of every player and best of Crystal Palace. It is more important than just the points.
“To be honest, it has started now [looking ahead to the final against Rayo Vallecano]. I will go to Valencia to see them live on Thursday. But, in the daily work - zero. Our focus is on our team always.
“We always think what is right for us [in terms of approaching the remaining league fixtures]. That is my responsibility. Our influence in the title race will be definitely less than VAR!
"We have shown the players where we can find our chances to score against City. We want to be more efficient. We believe we can create chances. But the big challenge is to control their attack.”
