Liverpool has been told not to go after Michael Olise as a Mohamed Salah replacement, and instead focus on the players it already has.
Salah will of course bring his nine-year spell at Anfield to an end this summer, having reached an agreement with the club to waive the final year of the contract he signed just 12 months ago.
Although the 33-year-old hasn’t hit his usual heights this season, Liverpool will face an enormous task in the coming months as it looks at way in which it can replace his output, having been the Reds’ main source of goals for nearly a decade.

Plenty of names have been linked with a transfer this summer, including Michael Olise. The former Crystal Palace winger has flourished since making the move to Bayern Munich in 2024, having recorded 42 goals and 53 assists in 105 appearances across his first two season in Germany.
However, former Chelsea and France star Florent Malouda believes Liverpool already has the solution to Salah’s impending departure.
“Michael Olise to replace Mohamed Salah? He is happy at Bayern,” Malouda told Snabbare.
“I think they also have talent to develop. They have Hugo Ekitike and Alexander Isak, they can find a solution internally.

“They need to work with the players they have before bringing more players because it might lead to more issues. You bring good players, and when they arrive in the environment, they're not performing.
“I think that's the question Liverpool need to address before bringing top talent.”
Salah has a maximum of just two games remaining before he bids farewell to Liverpool, with the Reds facing Aston Villa and Brentford in their final two games of the season with Champions League qualification still on the line.
There is a nervous wait to see what part the Egyptian will be able to play during the final week or so, having been out injured since being forced off against Crystal Palace last month.

On his departure, Malouda added: “It’s tricky for Mohamed Salah, if Liverpool accepted the transfer fee from a Saudi club for example a couple of years ago, the fans wouldn't be happy but now he is leaving for free.
“But overall, he's a legend for Liverpool and I think they will be able to prepare a farewell for him the way it should be handled. And in terms of performance, he shouldn't be focused too much on what will happen by the end of the season.

“I mean, he's a big character, he will manage his frustration. And what will be remembered is all his achievements as one of the top players in Premier League history.”
