Yan Diomande hints at summer move & Alisson exit update – Latest LFC News

Liverpool target Yan Diomande hasn’t exactly played down the idea of him leaving RB Leipzig for a new challenge this summer.

Yan Diomande gives update on his future

Diomande is among Europe’s most exciting young wingers, scoring 12 goals and bagging seven assists in the Bundesliga this season.

Speaking to reporters, the 19-year-old discussed his future, saying he will assess things after World Cup duty with the Ivory Coast.

“I don’t think about it too much because my focus is on the pitch, my job is playing football, that takes care of everything, but it gives me a lot of motivation to see people talking about me,” Diomande said.

“The World Cup is next and after that you never know what can happen.”

Diomande feels like a standout option to be Mohamed Salah‘s successor at Liverpool, but beating others to his signature won’t be easy.

The Ivorian remains a work in progress, but he has all the tools to grow into an elite wide man, possessing pace and end product galore.

Fields of Anfield Road is among Liverpool’s most famous songs – Sam Millne has written about the history behind the Kop anthem:

“The song caught on and quickly grew into one of the Kop’s biggest hits, with fans recognising the nod to their city’s ancestry while keeping the terraces football-focused.

“The Liverpool version of this anthem, The Fields of Anfield Road, is one of the most powerful songs in the club’s repertoire.

“While it follows the same haunting melody as the Irish original, the lyrics have been adapted to pay tribute to the legendary figures who built the club’s “magnificent history.”

Liverpool FC: On this day

On this day in 2006, Liverpool won the FA Cup for the seventh time, following an unforgettable win over West Ham on penalties.

Jamie Carragher‘s own goal and a Dean Ashton effort put the Hammers 2-0 up, but strikes from Djibril Cisse and Gerrard levelled matters.

Just when it looked as though Paul Konchesky’s fluke had broken Liverpool hearts, Gerrard equalised in the dying seconds with the best goal of his career to make it 3-3.
