Everton spent around £100m on new signings for the 2025/26 season
‘Solid’ would probably be the best word to describe Everton’s Premier League season, with David Moyes’ side currently sitting 10th in the table with just two matches of the campaign left to go. While they’re in a tough run of form just now without a win in five games, they’re still in with a shot of qualifying for Europe, with the race likely to go down to the final day of the season.
Having finished in the bottom half of the Premier League for the past four seasons, the 2025/26 campaign has to be seen as one of relative progress, despite dire domestic cup showings that saw the Toffees booted out of the FA Cup and Carabao Cup in the third and fourth round respectively.
Thought will now be turning towards the summer transfer window, with Everton already linked with a host of top quality new signings. Should the Toffees make the step up to Europe, they’ll be in the position of being able to attract a higher calibre of player to continue the promising new Hill Dickinson Stadium era.
As the 2025/26 season draws to a close, we’ve rated every player Everton have signed over the last two transfer windows. Goalkeeper Mark Travers is not included in the ratings, given that he has only played twice since joining from Bournemouth last summer:
Rating every player Everton signed for 2025/26 season - goalkeepers, defence and midfield
Adam Aznou - £7.8m from Bayern Munich: 3/10. While he was a relatively cost-effective signing, the 19-year-old’s debut season at Everton has been a disappointment. In the one appearance he has made in all competitions, he did at least make an impact, winning a penalty in the side’s eventual FA Cup loss to Sunderland.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall - £25m from Chelsea: 8/10. KDH was an excellent acquisition from Everton, who capitalised on the Blues’ chaotic transfer strategy to snatch an underappreciated gem. He’s chipped in with eight goals and four assists in the Premier League, and will remain a vital part of the Toffees side heading into next season.
Charly Alcaraz - £13m from Flamengo: 5/10. With Dewsbury-Hall the main man in the central attacking midfield role, there really hasn’t been space for Alcaraz to feature too. He’s cut a frustrated figure on the sidelines at the Hill Dickinson, having to settle for the role of impact substitute. A loan move abroad or permanent exit this summer wouldn’t come as a surprise.
Merlin Rohl - Loan from SC Freiburg: 6/10. Like Alcaraz, the 23-year-old has had limited opportunities to impress in his debut season at the club. He did catch the eye in away wins on the road against Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest earlier in the season, however. He’ll join the club permanently this summer, due to the obligation-to-buy clause in the loan deal.

Thierno Barry - £26m from Villarreal: 7/10. You can’t be a Premier League player called Barry and not become a bit of a cult hero really, can you? He’s scored eight league goals so far this season, which isn’t the worst return given that the majority of his appearances have come from off the bench.
He scored a delightful brace in the recent 3-3 draw with Man City and scored four goals in six matches during a real purple patch in January. He’ll be looking for a more regular run of starts next season, but that dream could well be crushed should the club look to sign a new striker this summer.
Jack Grealish - loan from Manchester City: 7/10. Toffees fans were delighted when this deal went through, and the England international looked back to his best for a while, free of the leash that saw his creative spark snuffed out in Pep Guardiola’s regimented system at Manchester City.
He bagged four assists over the course of Everton’s first four league matches of the campaign, but was cruelly struck down with a season-ending stress fracture to his foot. It’s understood that the club won’t trigger their option to sign the 30-year-old on a permanent deal once his loan spell comes to an end.
Tyrique George - loan from Chelsea: 4/10. After some impressive appearances for Chelsea in the Europa Conference League last season, the Toffees decided to take a deadline day punt to bring him in on loan back in February. He was brought in to bolster the squad after Grealish’s aforementioned injury, and has barely featured since joining the club.
Tyler Dibling - £40m from Southampton: 4/10. A whopping transfer fee saw the 20-year-old join the club last summer, but he’s played just over 500 minutes of underwhelming football since arriving. Moyes has publicly criticised the player’s work rate and training effort, and he’ll need to significantly improve his defensive duties to get another shot next season.
