New England Patriots rookie and former Boston College captain Quintayvious Hutchins was charged with domestic assault and battery on Tuesday, according to WCVB.
Hutchins was selected in the seventh round of the NFL Draft less than three weeks ago, but the linebacker's career may already be jeopardized. According to a report filed by the Boston College Police Department, officers were sent to a residence hall on the Boston College campus just before 8 p.m. on Tuesday after it was reported that a man and woman were fighting in a hallway.

Quintayvious Hutchins charge details
On Tuesday at 7:56 p.m., police responded to a call of a man and woman fighting in a hallway in Voute Hall on Boston College's campus.
One of the resident advisors told the officers that she saw Hutchins and a woman "pushing each other" and that he grabbed her "by the neck." According to the report, the RA described seeing the woman crying during the fight and said Hutchings accused the woman of cheating.
The woman was later interviewed by police and stated that "nothing happened." She told police that she did not want to file a restraining order or any other assistance and declined the officer's request to take a picture of her neck, per the report.
"We are aware of the report involving Quintayvious Hutchins. We take these matters very seriously and are in the process of gathering additional information. We will not have further comment at this time," the Patriots said in a statement.

Hutchins signed his rookie deal with the Patriots last Thursday. The Bessemer, Ala. native was a team captain for Boston College during his senior season. He recorded 35 tackles last year, along with seven quarterback hits and two sacks.
