Where Cowboys rank in total miles traveled for 2026 NFL season

The Dallas Cowboys' full 2026 schedule is set to be released on Thursday, but we already have some valuable information on the 18-game slate.

First off, we know that Dallas will travel to MetLife Stadium to square off against the New York Giants in Week 1 and will also have a matchup with the Baltimore Ravens in Brazil in Week 3. The third game we also know is a Thanksgiving contest versus the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 12.

Excluding the game Rio de Janeiro against the Ravens, the Cowboys will have the same number of home and road games this year at eight apiece. However, Brian Schottenheimer's squad will still be traveling a lot in 2026.

Where Cowboys rank in total miles traveled for 2026 season

According to Bill Speros of Bookies.com, who calculates total miles traveled for all teams yearly, the Cowboys will be on the road for 27,980 miles this season. That is the fourth-highest in the NFL, only behind the Houston Texans (28,470), Los Angeles Rams (34,847), and San Francisco 49ers (38,105).

Obviously, traveling out of the country to Brazil weighs heavily on the Cowboys being so highly ranked on the list. However, it's also worth noting that Dallas has to take two trips to the West Coast in 2026 to play the Seattle Seahawks and the Rams.

Here is the full list of road opponents for the Cowboys in 2026:

New York Giants

Philadelphia Eagles

Washington Commanders

Los Angeles Rams

Seattle Seahawks

Green Bay Packers

Houston Texans

Indianapolis Colts

In 2025, Dallas traveled just 18,897 miles, ranking 15th in the NFL. Schottenheimer's group will travel nearly 10,000 more miles than they did in 2026, so it'll be interesting to see if they can keep the same level of play far away from AT&T Stadium.
