Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Cory Trice Jr. has shown promise throughout his NFL career, but has been plagued by injuries in his first three seasons, missing 48 of 54 possible games. He suffered a season-ending ACL tear in August 2023. Trice then missed 13 games in 2024 with a hamstring injury and did not suit up for the Wild Card. Lastly, the former seventh-round pick began the 2025 season on injured reserve due to another hamstring injury sustained in August, and the Steelers let his practice window expire in late October after he suffered a knee injury.

According to Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team, the Steelers have waived Cory Trice Jr. with a failed physical designation. As a result, the front office frees up $1.145 million in cap space while taking on $21,000 in dead cap. Because Trice is still on his rookie contract, he will be subject to waivers, and if a team claims him, they will inherit a one-year, $1.145 million contract. If he clears, he becomes an unrestricted free agent and can sign with any team.
