Rookie S Jalen Huskey on Jaguars' 2026 Offseason Program: "I Plan to Come Here and Be Great…"

Huskey, like many other Jaguars selections in the past two drafts, had a fascinating college career. A 2025 second-team All-Big Ten selection last season, Huskey was tied for fourth in the Big Ten and 16th nationally with four interceptions in 12 games.

Huskey (6-feet-2 201 pounds) played 2024-2025 at Maryland and 2022-2023 at Bowling Green. He finished his collegiate career with 11 interceptions and 10 passes defensed, with four interceptions in 2023 when he was a first-team All-MAC selection at Bowling Green.

He began his collegiate career at cornerback before switching to safety at Maryland, with the cornerback-to-safety convert a popular trend for the Jaguars. Second-year veteran Caleb Ransaw was a collegiate cornerback who is expected to be a full-time NFL safety, with veteran safety Eric Murray playing cornerback at Minnesota before transitioning to safety in the NFL.

"You look at obviously some of the trends in the NFL and some of those heavier groupings," Coen said. "What you have to combat that with is making decisions whether you're going to go heavier at linebacker and go bigger people, or are you investing a little bit more in some of the bigger skill players on defense?
